A.R.Each nine weeks students are expected to earn at least 25 AR points with a percentage correct at 85% or better. The goal is broken down into 3 points per week. Most students surpass this quickly and stay on top of their goals. We are working on a informational text/non-fiction goal of 50% or more. The new Common Core State Standards requires half of our readings to come from informational texts(non-fiction).
(The third and fourth nine weeks we will try to earn 4 points each week. Students have been working so hard in AR. Many have surpassed the goals they have set for themselves several times.) Students who earn 100 points will get a beautiful trophy at the end of the year awards ceremony. There are also awards for those who earn 200, 300, etc. It is always my goal for each student to earn a 100 point trophy! |
